ORANGE — One person was taken to the hospital, and one declined transport, after a minivan struck the side of a South Main Street barn shortly after midnight on Friday.
According to the Orange Fire Department’s Facebook page, dispatchers received calls reporting a single-vehicle crash near Magoon Road at around 12:20 a.m. A department ambulance responded. Orange Police officers arrived and requested a second ambulance, which the Athol Fire Department provided.
Building Commissioner Jeffrey Cooke was called to inspect the barn’s structural integrity due to significant foundation damage and determined it to be safe. The barn does not house any animals.
The Orange Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash. The minivan was towed by Dale’s Auto Body & Towing.
