GREENFIELD — In the first of several events to raise money for the 2025 Independence Day fireworks, the Greenfield Recreation Department will host an Adult Dodgeball Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Greenfield Middle School gymnasium.

“Each year, our department is tasked with raising approximately $20,000 for our Independence Day fireworks celebration,” Recreation Director Christy Moore said in a statement. “This year, we are getting creative and planning multiple community events to assist with our goal.”

The tournament welcomes teams of five for a double-elimination gauntlet. Teams will play five games, each five minutes long. The first-place team will receive $50 and a trophy, while second and third place will also receive trophies.

Sign-up costs $50 per team. Teams must register in advance at friendsofgreenfieldrecreation.org/x/9/Adult-Dodge-Ball-2024.

Spectators are also welcome. Adult spectators will be admitted for $5 and child spectators for $2. Snacks, non-alcoholic beverages and pizza will be for sale.

The community can also donate to support the Greenfield Recreation Department’s fireworks festivities at friendsofgreenfieldrecreation.org/p/24/Support-the-Fireworks.
