Bulletin Board: Plager sinks third career ace

Country Club of Greenfield member Mike Plager hit his third career hole-in-one, doing so on Hole No. 7 at Bretwood Country Club in Keene, N.H.

Plager used a 7 iron to sink the ace from 162 yards out. Joe Butz, Dan Finn and Jim Hawkins were witness. 

Greenfield Elks

Bill Erman and Paul Viens took first place with 41 points in the Greenfield Elks Golf League this past week at CCG. 

Joe Lachance and Bill Martin took second (39) while Jamie Bozek and Pete Kuzmeskus placed third (38). In closest to the pin Viens won on No. 2 (18 feet, eight inches) while Keith Schempp won it on No. 5 (15-11).

Liberty Tax 8, Bobby C’s 7 — Harlon Hickey hit the game winning RBI and recorded a save on the mound while Yusef Bensen played well in the field in Liberty Tax’s win Thursday. 

Wyatt Wilkins had three hits for Bobby C’s.

Tri-County

Northfield Cougars 19, Hinsdale Horseshoes 6 — Ryleigh Goodwin and Evy Lewis each struck out six, Emmalee Brinster doubled and drove in two while Jenna Hamilton had two hits as the Cougars advanced to the championship game with a win Thursday. 

Heidi Ebbinhausen struck out eight while Honor Bornkessel singled in a run for Hinsdale. 

Adult softball

Common Ground Fitness 29, Farmers United 17 — Brian Finnity tallied three home runs and two hits, Joe Geary had five hits while Ed Morley tallied five hits and a home run in Common Ground Fitness’ win Friday. 

Bowling

Nick Brown rolled the men's high single (116) and triple (319) while Jill Jablonski had the women’s high single (96) and Karen Herzog had the women’s high triple (272) in the Thursday Mini League at Shelburne Falls Bowling Alley this past week.
