Bulletin Board: GGSL championship game suspended in fifth inning due to weather (PHOTOS)

Mother Nature put a halt to the Greenfield Girls Softball League championship game on Thursday.
Triton Automotive held a 3-1 lead over Descavich Plumbing in the top of the fifth when thunder and lightning suspended the game.
The championship game is set to resume at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Murphy Park.
Junior Legion
Greenfield Post 81 7, Wilbraham 2 — A five-run seventh inning propelled Post 81 to a victory in Wilbraham on Thursday.
Nick Prasol knocked three hits and drove in a run while Conner Bergeron tallied two hits in the win. Hayden Girard, Shawn Baumann and Paxton Phelps each had a hit and an RBI while Aiden Shea hit safely for Greenfield.
Austin D’Urso struck out 12 in the victory.

The Greenfield Tennis Cup will take place on Saturday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Beacon Courts in Greenfield.
The tournament is a singles, round robin format featuring a men’s and women’s division. The tournament is open to players hig h school aged and older. Tennis balls will be provided. Call Rick Miner at 413-824-1695 to register. The deadline to register is Friday at 6 p.m.
Timmons-Messer
Tom Almstead and Tom Henry shot the low gross of 34, followed by Jeff Seymour and Bruce Kaeppel with a 35, in the Timmons-Messer League at Northfield Golf Club Wednesday.
Dick Golosh and Doug Turner shot the low net (26) followed by Jim Jason and Richard Gorey (27). In closest to the pin Tad Mosher won on No. 6 (one feet, eight inches) while Dan Grybko won on No. 7 (4-9). Almstead and Seymour were match medalists with scores of 35.
