A dominant pitching performance from Lexi Hawkins lifted Triton Automotive to the Greenfield Girls Softball League Ponytail Division championship on Tuesday. 

Taking on Descavich Plumbing, Hawkins struck out 15 and didn’t give up a hit, allowing Triton to take home the championship trophy with a 3-1 victory at Murphy Park. 

The game began on Thursday, but was suspended due to rain in the top of the fifth with Triton leading 3-1. Neither team produced a hit when after the game resumed on Tuesday. 

Lenyx White cracked a double while Hawkins, Clara Behan and Sophia LaPan hit safely in the win.

Sammi Suhl struck out 13 and drove in Descavich’s lone run of the game. 

FC Summer League

Bombers 20, Magic 3 — Carson Farrell doubled and drove in four runs, Mia Shaw struck out five and added a two-RBI single at the plate while Sienna Laflesh singled in the Bombers’ win Monday. 

Olivia Lemay struck out eight for the Magic.

Junior Legion

Greenfield Post 81 10, North Adams 9 — Shawn Baumann drove in the game-winning run with a single in the bottom of the seventh to score Austin D’Urso, lifting Post 81 to a victory at Vets Field on Tuesday. 

Cody Yetter cracked three hits and drove in two runs, Grayson Bishop finished with three hits and an RBI, Michael Hioe knocked a pair of hits while Nick Prasol had an RBI single in the win. Arthur Fitzpatrick struck out seven while D’Urso added four strikeouts for Greenfield. 

Adult softball

PV Women’s League

Conway 12, Shelburne Falls 2 — Cassy Jouannet doubled three times and drove in a run while Molly McMunn had three hits in Conway’s Pioneer Valley Women’s Softball League win on Tuesday.  

Cathy Potak knocked three hits and drove in two runs, Lexi Farrick doubled while Shirley Maclean had two hits in the loss. 

Basketball

DRIVE League

Addison Phifer scored 18 points while Jacob Cancel added 13 points  in Smooth Operator’s 66-62 win over Team No Name in men’s league action of the DRIVE League at Greenfield High School Monday. 

Brendin Rios tallied 18 points while Rob Jones had 12 points in the loss. 

Later, Markol Strong earned a 92-63 win over Triple Threat behind 29 points from Matt Petro and 17 points from Parker Hickey. Mike Menard  scored 15 points while Brody Baird had 10 points for Triple Threat. 

To close out the night, Rob Figueroa poured in 33 points while Daniel Laffitte tossed in 14 points in OSC-Manning’s 63-62 triumph over Crossover Crew. John Hansen and Lew Borden each had 18 points in the loss. 

Golf

CCG women’s league

 Terry Boyce (81) and Nancy Robie (92) had the low  gross scores while Teresa Varner (72) and Jane Smith (74) had the low net scores in Flight One of the 18 Hole Women’s League at Country Club of Greenfield Tues day. 

In Flight Two, Sue Sigda (95) and Sally Bernard (112) had the low gross scores while Irene Woods (71) and Susan Parker (72) had the low net scores. 

• Annie Lasek (30) and Elaine Goodhind (34) had the low scores in the Patty Berg Flight in a Par 3’s and 4’s contest in the 9 Hole Women’s League at CCG on Monday. 

Other group leaders were Liz Archer (35) and Ann McHugh (35) in the Nancy Lopez Flight, Angela Berquist (41) and Laura Coburn (42) in the JoAnne Carner Flight, Dawn Bete (47) in the Lorena Ochoa Flight, Susan Luippold (42) and Sally Bernard (47) in the Annika Sorenstam Flight and Brenda Dedinas (46) and Patricia Coffin (47) in the Michelle Wie Flight.
