The inaugural Mixed Doubles Tournament for the Greenfield Tennis Association at the Beacon Tennis Courts in Greenfield took place on Saturday, with Alexis Silk and Steve Pedigree knocking off Steve Plotkin and Lauren Alderfer in the finals, 8-4, to capture first place. 

Suzanne Baxter and Jared Berthiaume defeated Jim Sexton and Francie Garanin in the third-place match.

Nine teams competed, with duos playing eight-game pro sets.

Moore in the top 10 at NE

Gunnar Moore competed in the opening round of the 2024 New England Junior Amateur Invitational Individual Championship on Monday at GreatHorse in Hampden, shooting an even 72. 

That score put him in a tie for ninth heading into the second round, which was scheduled for Monday afternoon but was postponed to Tuesday morning due to weather.

CJ Winchenbaugh sits in first place with a score of 65.

Play resumes at 8:30 a.m. for the final day of competition.
