Bulletin Board: Athol alumnus Harvey Krupnick inducted into the Holliston High School Athletics Hall of Fame

Athol alumnus Harvey Krupnick was inducted into the Holliston High School Athletics Hall of Fame earlier this year.
Krupnick, a 2007 Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductee, graduated from Athol in 1962. He briefly played in the Detroit Tigers system before coaching baseball Holliston High School from 1974-2006.
At Holliston Krupnick compiled a 408-311 record, winning the 1987 Massachusetts Division 2 state championship. Krupnick passed away in 2016.

Mike Cadran (plus-8) and Ray Zukowski (plus-7) were the top point quota scorers at Wednesday’s Knights of Columbus League at Thomas Memorial.
Rod Herzig shot the low gross (38), while closest to pin on No. 7 was Bob Walker (1 foot, 11 inches) and Zukowski (5-11) on No. 9. Skins were won by Rod Demers and Zukowski. The league’s current leader is Bill Chalmers at +plus-14.
Thomas Women’s League
Sally Malloy shot the low gross of 44 while Delia Foster tallied the low net of 28 in the Thomas Women’s League at Thomas Memorial Wednesday.

Andy Sena and Richard Drozdal shot the low gross of 36 while Doug Turner and Bob Bateman won a match of cards over Jack Letourneau and Tim Herzig to card the low net of 24 in the Timmons-Messer League at Northfield Golf Club Wednesday.
Norm LaCoy and Scott Powers took second in gross (37). Jeff Seymour won closest to the pin on No. 6 (3-11) while Jim Laford won on No. 7 (8-0). Sunny Lucas was the match medalist with a 37.

Franklin First Credit Union 4, Freedom Credit Union 3 — Grayson Baker tallied two hits and an RBI while LilyMelissa Beckwith recorded two hits in Franklin First’s victory on Thursday.
Alivia Griffith cracked three hits and an RBI, Emma Reardon recorded four hits while Paisley Beck had two singles and a double for Freedom.
Triton Automotive 15, Precision Driving School 8 — Rihanna Figueroa had two hits, Tianna Moise-Valdez singled and doubled while Sophia LaPan hit safely in Triton’s win Wednesday.
Addison Martin singled and tripled while Madelyn Barrett and Raven Ziff hit safely for Precision.

Vernon 6, Northfield Cougars 4 — Evy Lewis struck out eight, Ryleigh Goodwin doubled singled and drove in a run while Lewis added two singles and an RBI in the Cougars’ loss to Vernon on Thursday.
Molly Kunkle struck out nine while Tenlea Rea and Gimena Martinez each had two hits and an RBI for Vernon.
Northfield Cougars 17, Brattleboro 10 — Evy Lewis and Ryleigh Goodwin each struck out five while Cheyanne Hutchinson doubled, singled and drove in two runs, Ryleigh Goodwin d oubled, singled and drove in a run while Abigail Fortier doubled and drove in two in the Cougars’ win Wednesday.

Aubuchon Hardware 12, Liberty Tax 7 — Emlen Babits sin gled while Joshua James pitched in Aubuchon’s victory on Thursday.
Phineas Brown had two runs and Solomon Evan hit safely for Liberty Tax.
Freedom Credit Union 7, Baker Financial 5 — Jack Barrett tallied three hits, Walker Kingsbury knocked two singles and two doubles while Noah Marguet pitched in Freedom’s triumph Thursday.
