Bulletin Board: Dezmond Jurkowski’s hit lifts Rotary into GMLB AAA championship game

Dezmond Jurkowski drove Emerson Maxam in for the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning, lifting Rotary Club to the GMLB AAA championship game with a 12-11 semifinal victory over Pioneer Valley Tire on Wednesday night.
It was a continuation of a game that began on Tuesday. Rotary will meet New Fortune for the AAA title on Thursday at 5:45 p.m. at Lunt Field.
Blake Miner added a two-run single in the win to pace Rotary Club.
Brantley Godfrey and Owen Castine both tallied hits while Kaydin Snow-Rose scored four runs for Pioneer Valley Tire.
GGSL
Triton Automotive 19, Precision Driving 0 — Lexi Hawkins hit two triples and two doubles, Rihanna Figueroa doubled, Sophia LaPan singled while Lexi Hawkins and Linsey Hawkins combined for 12 strikeouts to lift Triton to the GGSL championship game with a win on Tuesday.
Kalina Pease tallied a hit and struck out five for Precision. The final is set for Thursday night at 6 p.m. at Murphy Park.
Franklin Tech Summer League

The Franklin Tech Summer Girls Basketball League kicked off its fourth season on Tuesday, with Hopkins opening things with a 36-22 win over Greenfield behind 10 points from Laney Crutch and seven points from both Chloe Kosciusko and Anna Conklin.
Anna Bucala scored 16 points while Tayler Bergeron had six points for the Wave.
In the second game, Nevaeh Scribner scored 17 points, Hayden Comeau tallied 10 points, Lexi Ares scored eight points and Taylor Paluk added seven points in Mahar’s 52-15 win over Athol. Ava Martin scored nine points while Ally Robertson had six points for the Bears.
In the third game, Brayleigh Burgh put up 15 points, Haleigh Benoit scored 12 points, Lilianna Inman recorded 10 points and Abi Dobias recorded eight points in Franklin Tech’s 53-33 win over Pioneer. Addie Harrington tallied 19 points, Natalie Rios scored seven points, Kiara Gruszkowski had four points and Kyler McClelland added three points for the Panthers.
To close out the night Frontier earned a 55-19 win over Franklin Tech behind 13 points from Skyler Steele, 12 points from Jazzy Hayes, nine points from Whitney Campbell and five points from Olivia Machon.
DRIVE League
Jayden Delgado scored 14 points while Morgan Softic added 13 points in Orange’s 73-23 win over Franklin Tech on Tuesday in boys varsity action in the DRIVE League at Greenfield High School.
Jason Silva led the Eagles with 10 points.
Later, Joey Meade scored 22 points to propel Narragansett past Turners Falls, 57-27. Jackson Cogswell scored six points for the Thunder.
In the final game of the night, John Talbot scored 19 points to lift Keene past Frontier, 86-32. Max Millette led the Redhawks with eight points.
Thomas Women’s League
Robin Hartnett shot the low gross of 46 in the Thomas Women’s League at Thomas Memorial on Wednesday.
Cindy Scully carded the low net (26) while Joanne McGowan won closest to the pin on No. 7 (17 feet, eight inches).
K of C League
Jamie Deery finished with the top point quota of plus-7 in the Knights of Columbus League at Thomas Memorial Wednesday.
John O’Reilly won closest to the pin on No. 7 (8-1) while Darren Lenois won on No. 9 (11-9). Lenois, Deery and Mike McCarthy won skins.
Common Ground Fitness 24, Cartelli Collision Repair 15 — Joe Geary had seven hits, David Maston had a hit, Brian Ginnity had four hits and Steph Scott had three hits in Common Ground’s win Tuesday.
Dakota Burgh had five hits and Pat Mathey had three hits in the loss.
Liberty Tax Sharks 21, Smitty’s Pub 16 — Matt Gibson and Storm Cinder each had three hits while Che Christi added two hits in the Sharks’ win on Tuesday.
Davey Ewell had four hits while Jack Putala and Dom Carme had three hits in the loss for Smitty’s.
