Bulletin Board: Franklin County Bulldogs and Frontier youth football teams square off

Benjamin Woodard threw a pair of touchdowns to Avery Lococo while Jackson Puchalski ran in an 8-yard score in the Franklin County Bulldogs Junior football team’s 21-0 win over Frontier on Sunday.
Wes Darling had two sacks and an interception, Lococo had a pick and Toby Campbell recovered a fumble in the win.
Frontier PeeWees 22, Franklin County Bulldogs 0 — Johnny Stanisewski, Lane Kicza and Barrett Kicza found the end zone in the Redhawks’ win over the Bulldogs Sunday.
Ben Griffin and Logan Elias played well on defense in the win. Gavin Keene had four tackles, Majer Rodriguez had three tackles and Brock Puchalski recovered a fumble in the loss.
Frontier Seniors 38, Franklin County Bulldogs 0 — KK Taylor and Riggins Kopcza each ran in a pair of touchdowns while Colton Byniewski and Chase Greene also found the end zone in Frontier’s victory on Sunday.
Caden Washburn threw a pair of touchdowns in the win.
Greenfield Touch League
J&J Sports 32, Titans 0 — Mak Rodgers found Patrick Clancy for four touchdowns while Tyson Dowdy added a score in J&J’s victory on Sunday in a Greenfield Touch Football League contest.

championship
Crumpin-Fox Club held its club championship over the weekend, and Keith Burch was crowned champion on the men’s side after carding a two-round score of 146. Lisa Sullivan took the women’s championship by carding a 178.
Nick Stern was the runner up on the men’s side (158). Carl Hoynoski shot the low net on the men’s side (145) followed by Lee Skiffington (148) while Corky Sysun had the low net on the women’s side (152).
CCG results
Ricky James hit a hole-in-one on Hole No. 9 at Country Club of Greenfield Saturday.
The shot came from 155 yards out using an 8 iron. Clint McCloud, Alec Meilkle and Steve Jones were witnesses.
■ In a 200 Club Fall Scramble at CCG on Saturday, Tom Herzig, John Missale, Terry Boyce, Lana O’Connor, Judy Strong and Sabrina Mancini took first with a score of 52.
The team of Barb Killeen, Jack Killeen, Rich Clark, John Johnson, Tom Schneider and Brady Booska tied with Jack Varner, Teresa Varner, Kelly Varner, Pat Varner, Phil Reilley and Dick Peel for third (55).
The team of Alex Hall, Matt Hall, Mya Keesee, Mike Keesee and Karen Sanders tied with Ellen Bitzer, Zach Bitzer, Jeff Sullivan, Ryan Sullivan and Corky Sysun for the low net (49).
■ CCG held its 2024 Mixed Invitational on Sunday, with Dennis Yarrows and Chris Eugin taking first with a gross score of 64.
Dean Godek and Alia Godek tied with Will Conant and Lana O’Connor for second (64), Tim McKenna and Helen Wright placed fourth (68) and Andy Lesenski and Terry Boyce placed fifth (70).
Mike Dufresne and Cindy Lajzer shot the low net (61) followed by Michael Duclos and Karen Duclos (62) and Roy Emerson and TC Emerson (64). In net system scoring, DJ Cronin and Sara Cronin took first (68) followed by David Cronin and Amanda Cronin (70) and Mike Cronin and Meghan Szawlowski (70).
■ At a YMCA Outing on Monday at CCG, Joel Nelson, Gary Darling, Garrett Cote and Tim Cooley shot the low gross of 58 in the Men’s Flight.
The foursome of Sean Bayer, Cody Snow, Ashley Evans and Matt Llewelyn won the Mixed Flight (57) while Sue Welenc, Corky Sysun, Terry Boyce and Nancy Donoghue won the Women’s Flight (66).
Fran Lemay, Joe Lemay, Al Dedinas and Joe Ruggeri shot the low net in the Men’s Flight (51), Robin Provost, Jessica Provost, Douglas Carlson and Mike Welles carded the low net in the Mixed Flight (51) and Wanda Pyfrom, Lisa Sullivan, Phyllis Canon and Michele Hazlett had the low net in the Women’s Flight (55).
Don Maynard Race
The 30th annual Don Maynard Memorial Race is scheduled for this Saturday at 9:30 a.m at the Greenfield Municipal Swimming Area.
The options are to run the 5 mile road race or the 3 mile walk. T-shirts will be given to the first 50 people who register. Online registration is available at RuSignup.com. The race is looking for volunteers. Questions can be directed to Chuck Adams at 413-522-6688.
People’s Pint doubles
The People’s Pint Annual Doubles Tournament took place over the weekend, with Dave Reading and Jared Berthiaume beating Alden Booth and Chris Ferriter (6-2, 6-4) in the finals.
Chris Seaver and Gabe Seaver beat Alexis Silk and David Hernandez in the consolation match (6-3, 6-1).
Montague Bluefish registration
The Montague Bluefish Swim Team — a competitive/recreational swim team that competes in the Pioneer Valley Swim League — is holding a preseason informational meeting on Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. at Turners Falls High School.
Swimmers in the program range from ages 6-through-18. New swimmers must be able to successfully complete an in-water swim test.
