Bulletin Board: Freedom Credit Union wins GMLB AA championship

Noah Marguet and Owen Little each pitched shut out innings late, and the bats did the job throughout the night to help Freedom Credit Union take home the Greenfield Minor League Baseball AA Division championship with a 10-4 win over Gagne Wealth Management on Monday night at Lunt Field.
Parker Smith-Leclair hit two doubles while Mason Lovett played well on defense for Gagne.
Registrations are underway for the 21st Annual Orange Recreation Association Basketball Camp.
The camp features two sessions, one running from July 8-12 and the other going from July 15-19. The camp begins at 8:30 a.m. and closes at 2 p.m. at Swift River School in New Salem.
The camp is open to any area boy or girl entering grades 4-9 in the fall, and is for players of all levels of basketball experience looking to learn new skills and improve their current skills through drills, skills, contests, evaluations, scrimmages and fun games. The camp is capped at 40 players per session.
The cost is $125 for one week and $225 for two weeks. There is a sibling discount. Players will receive breakfast, lunch, a camp T-shirt and five hours of basketball per day. There will be 10 coaches present.
The registration deadline is June 24 to ensure a T-shirt, though registrations will continue after. For questions or to register call 978-544-6377.

The Greenfield Tennis Cup will take place on Saturday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Beacon Courts in Greenfield.
The tournament is a singles, round robin format featuring a men’s and women’s division. The tournament is open to players high school aged and older. Tennis balls will be provided. Call Rick Miner at 413-824-1695 to register. The deadline to register is Friday at 6 p.m.
Mass. Amateur qualifier
A trio of locals competed in a 2024 Massachusetts Amateur Golf Championship qualifier at Veterans Memorial Golf Course in Springfield on Monday, though none bested the cut line needed to advance to next month’s Championship at Framingham Country Club.
Ryan Cote, representing Country Club of Greenfield, and Ben Zaranek, representing Northfield Golf Club, both shot a 5-over 77 on the day to tie for 16th.
Crumpin-Fox’s Brian Strzempek shot an 8-over 80 to tie for 35th on the day. Only the top six finishers advanced to the Mass Amateur championship, set for July 8-12. Tuesday will feature the only other western Mass. qualifier at Stockbridge Golf Club.

Ryan Cote and Scott Cote took first with a gross score of 144 over two rounds in the Father-Son/Father-Daughter Championship at the Country Club of Greenfield Sunday.
Bob Bourbeau and Chris Bourbeau took second (152).
Over one round, Chris Varilly and Rich Young tied with the pairings of Dylan Archer and Mike Archer, Jacob Kelton and Jason Kelton and Mike Duclos and Mikey Duclos for first (70).
Jason Kelton and Lucas Kelton tied with Jason Kelton and Mike Kelton for fifth (72).
In net scoring, Andrew Pepyne and Bud Pepyne tied with Alex Meikle and John Meikle for first (60). Chris Lemay and Fran Lemay took third (61) while Denis Depault and Will Depault tied with Jason Viadero and Joe Viadero for fourth (62).
In the Father-Daughter Tournament, Casey Downie and Dan Gavin took first (71) while Avery Kelton and Jason Kelton placed second (72).
Allen Holmes and Sam Mizula shot the low net (63) followed by Kelly Doton and Terry Doton (65). In the Junior Division Abby Thompson and Rich Clark tied with Ben Thompson and Rich Clark for first (13).
Crumpin-Fox Two-Ball
JC Guthrie and Chris Corey won a 2-hole playoff over Nate Patterson and Anthony Vincequere to take first in the Crumpin-Fox Club’s Open Two Ball Tournament over the weekend.
The two pairs each shot a 5-under 139 for the tournament.
Chris Stoddard and Mike O’Connell shot the low net of 16-under, with Kevin Horrigan and Scott Betourney taking second (15-under) and Paul Murphy and Adam Assadourian finishing in third (14-under).
