Bulletin board: Jeff Jackman, Roy Emerson record holes-in-one

It’s been a busy summer for local golf courses. That’s been particularly true in regard to holes-in-one, and two more locals were at it this week.
Jeff Jackman and Roy Emerson joined the ace brigade over the last two days, recording holes-in-one at Thomas Memorial and Country Club of Greenfield, respectively.
Jackman aced the seventh hole at Thomas, using a gap wedge from 125 yards out on Thursday. It was his first career hole-in-one.
The feat was witnessed by Joe Adams, Dorothy Adams and Barb Laczynski.
Emerson followed suit on Friday, notching an ace on the fifth hole at CCG.
Measuring in at 135 yards, he used an 8-iron to accomplish the feat. It was witnessed by Brian Luippold, Barry Dow and Norm Morris.
Jon Hunt Senior Two Ball
Jon and Carter Fasick shot 6-under 66 to secure low gross honors in the Jon Hunt Senior Two-Ball at the Country Club of Greenfield on Friday.

Jim Lafleur and Mike Plager were the net winners at 10-under 62.
In the Senior Flight, Doug Riel and John Bresnahan tied for low gross (68) with Jim Kennedy and Brian Foley. Low net went to John Dempsey and Mike Player (65).
In the Super Senior Flight, Bill Wardwell and Ron Burniske were the winners (68), followed by Robert Linn and Cob Carlson (71). Low net went to John Varner and Phil Reilley (64), just ahead of Brian Luippold and Roy Emerson (65).
In the Legends Flight, Barry Dow and Norman Morris tied for first place with the teams of Jim Hawkins/John Walker and John Gale/Jack Ackert after all three duos shot 72. Doug Finck and Charles Robbins were the net winners (62).
Greenfield Elks League
Bill Erman and Paul Viens took first place in Week 16 of the Greenfield Elks Golf League on Wednesday at the Country Club of Greenfield with 85.5 points.
Keith Schempp and John Stacy were second (81 points), and Joe LaChance and Bill Martin were third (80). Closest to the pin winners were Sharon Rawson on No. 2 (16-7) and Brian Werme on No. 5 (5-11).
Northfield Summer Road Race
Nathaniel Belmont cruised to a nearly two-minute victory on Thursday at the Northfield Summer Road Race. Belmont took first overall in 17 minutes, 56 seconds.
Mark Guillaume was second overall in 19:54, followed by Charlie Widmann (third, 20:00), Michael Bear (fourth, 20:05) and Alex Scotera (fifth, 20:12).
The rest of the top 15 included Mike Townsley (sixth), Oliver Bartus (seventh), Isaach Bingham (eighth), Ryan Behan (ninth), Joe Snikeris (10th), Dan O’Brien (11th), Mason Youmell (12th), Seneca Smith (13th), Gary DeYoung (14th) and August Bingham (15th).
