Bulletin: McHugh shoots top point quota at CCG

Ann McHugh shot the top point quota of one in Flight One in a contest at Country Club of Greenfield Tuesday. 

Susan O’Connor and Teresa Varner tied for second (0). Susan Parker had the top point quota in Flight Two (11) while Sue McDonald placed second (7) and Donna Mowry came in third (3). 

Smith sinks ace

Turners Falls’ Jane Smith knocked an ace at Ledges Golf Club in South Hadley last week, doing so on Hole No. 7. 

The shot came from 106 yards out using a 9 wood. Phyllis Bidetich, Brian Murphy and David Nichols were witness.

St. Stan's 17, Liberty Tax Sharks 8 – Brody Markol (four hits, 2B, 2 RBIs), Matt Luippold (4H, 2B, HR, 2 RBIs), Kramer Patenaude (3H, 2B, HR, 5 RBIs) and Trevor Mankowsky (3H, two 2Bs) led the way for St. Stan’s in a victory on Tuesday night.

MacKenzie Salls, Brittany York, Devin Millerick and Allison Willis each had two hits for St. Stan’s.

Heather Gibson and Cody Willor (2 RBIs) had three hits apiece for the Sharks, while Che Christi (2H, 2B) and Matt Gibson (2H, 2 RBIs) also had strong outings.

Ruggeri Real Estate 7, Liberty Tax 6 — Toby Campbell struck out nine, Jovani Borgos knocke d two  hits while JJ Grader hit safely in Ruggeri’s win over the weekend. 

Adrian Lopez struck out nine while Solomon O’Neil-Evans and Rowan Hickey each had a hit for Liberty Tax. 

Softball

Gilmore & Farrell Insurance 9, Descavich Plumbing 5 – Rian Farrell got the momentum started in the bottom of the third with a single to left field driving in the first two runs for G & F.  Miley Frey hit a line-drive triple to aid the cause, and Sadie Wilcox struck out nine batters.

Alexis Berry, Charlie Lovett, and Sami Suhl each contributed hits for Descavich. Suhl (seven strikeouts) and Lovett (five strikeouts) shared the mound duties. 

Camelot Carpet Cleaners 5, Pristine Orientals 3 – Camelot turned two double plays and Charley Deane struck out two in the win.

Hailey Sadler, Zoey Lively, and Savannah Thomas all had three hits for Pristine.

Middle School

Greenfield 18, Athol 5 — Avery Cutting struck out five while Haddie Connelly and Abi Youmell hit safely as Greenfield finished its season with a 12-0 record following a win over Athol Friday. 

Ella Reed had a hit and struck out three while Abigail McNamara hit safely for Athol.
