Bulletin Board: Mojallali, Flagollet compete in high jump at Meet of Champions

The second day of the MIAA Meet of Champions took place on Saturday at Fitchburg State, with a pair of local athletes competing against the best track and field athletes in the state. 

Mohawk Trail’s Chay Mojallali competed in the boys high jump, placing sixth with a top jump of 6 feet, 4 inches. 

Pioneer’s Louise Flagollet competed in the girls high jump and hit a top mark of 5 feet, 2 inches, placing her 12th overall. 

Golf

Ainsworth sinks ace

Mat Ainsworth of Deerfield carded his first hole-in-one on Saturday at the Country Club of Greenfield.

Ainsworth used a 60 degree wedge to ace the 15th hole, a 155-yard par 3. The shot was witnessed by Brian Carney.

CCG Senior championship

The Country Club of Greenfield hosted its Senior Club Championship over the weekend, with Terrry Boyce winning the Women’s Division (two-round total of 163) and Jason Kelton winning the Men’s Division (133).

Elaine Goodhind shot the low net (135) in the Women’s Division. On the women’s side, the low gross scorers were Nancy Robie in the Lopez Flight (193), Diane Carme in the Whitworth Flight (179) while Barb Killeen had the low net in the Lopez Flight (157) and Sue O’Connor recorded the low net in the Whitworth Flight (144). 

On the men’s side, Mike Archer shot the low net (139). In gross scoring David Kennedy had the low score in the Stricker Flight (145), Mark Kennedy took  the Langer Flight (157) while Norman Morris and John V arner tied in the Irwin Flight (167). 

In net scoring, Dave Perlmutter won the Stricker Flight (141), Roy Emerson took the Langer Flight (142) while Richard Tozloski won the Irwin Flight (149). 

Crumpin-Fox

Mike O’Connell, Mike Duclos, Alex White and Will Rollins took first place with a score of 60 in a Best Ball of Foursome contest at Crumpin-Fox Sunday. 

Peter Jenkins, Jon Flis and Jason Wallace took second (71). Jeff Sullivan, Lisa Sullivan, Ryan Sullivan and Trevor Berman shot the low net (59) while AJ Bourdon, Dylan Weichselbaumer and Spencer Ball took second (61). 

Guy Ardrey won closest to the pin on No. 9 (two feet, 10 inches) while Will Rollins won longest drive on No. 17.

Newt Guilbault

The Newt Guilbault All-Star game took place on Sunday, with the West beating the East, 6-2. 

Tyler Girard singled and doubled while Ava Barber, Guner Triggs and Connor Bartlett hit safely for West. Liam Karavan singled for East. 

GMLB

Pioneer Valley Tire 12, Rotary Club 9 — Kaydin Snow Rose had two hits, Kyan Skutnik-Sheffield singled, tripled and knocked in two while Brantley Godfrey and Brayden Parody hit safely in Pioneer Valley Tire’s win Sunday. 

Brock Puchalski and Emerson Maxam each had two hits while Joseph Gardner and Carson White hit safely for Rotary. 

Ruggeri Real Estate 12, Aubuchon Hardware 7 — JJ Grader had two hits, Parker Smith-LaClaire tripled to drive in three while Brody Suhl struck out seven in Ruggeri’s win Sunday. 

Elias Tripp had four hits and seven strikeouts, EJ Provost tallied two hits while Benjamin Simanski hit safely for Aubuchon. 

Maniattys 10, Gilmore & Farrell 9 — Jackson Puchalski knocked four hits and struck out two on the mound while Liam Gould and Jackson Baker each had two hits in Maniatty’s win Saturday. 

Theo D’urso had two hits while Noah Foote, Corbin Pease, Jaydin Howard, Casey Burke and Jaime McCarthy hit safely for Gilmore & Farrell.

Pioneer Valley Tire 11, Lundgren Honda 9 — Owen Castine had three hits and pitched while Brantley Godfrey, Gabriel Tidlund and Paxton Gibson hit safely in Pioneer Valley Tire’s win Saturday. 

Ben Trombley had three hits, Damien Shields had two hits while Kent Warner and Laurence Shields hit safely for Lundgren. 

Parody Builders 17, Fitzgerald Real Estate 8 — Dimitri Gioules hit a double, two singles and drove in two runs, Sam Call tallied a hit and an RBI while Ben Thompson tallied four hits and two RBIs in Parody’s win Friday. 

Raylan Beckwith doubled and hit three singles while Aiden Martin had four hits for Fitzgerald. 

Ruggeri Real Estate 11, Bobby C’s 3 — Jovanni Borgos, Anthony Ruggeri, Toby Campbell and Brody Suhl hit safely in Ruggeri’s win Saturday. 

Mason Deome and Braith Brothers each had a hit while Wyatt Wilkins pitched for Bobby C’s.
