Bulletin Board: Nathaniel Belmont wins weekly Northfield Summer Road Race

Nathaniel Belmont placed first at Thursday’s Northfield Summer Road Race, completing the three-mile course in a time of 18 minutes, 16 seconds. 

Cyrus Belmont took second (18:25), Michael Townsley came in third (19:45), Michael Bear earned fourth (20:07) while Ben Emberley crossed in fifth (20:29).

Robin McKeon was the first female finisher and took 11th overall with a time of 23:55.

The race saw 31 runners and 13 walkers participate. The final race of the season is set for Thursday, Aug. 29.

Pickleball

Deerfield hosting tourney

The Deerfield Pickleball Group will host a Pickleball Tournament – Lob for the Library on Saturday, Oct. 26, beginning at 10 a.m. at Frontier Regional School.

There will be a fun category, over 55 category, mixed doubles category and advanced group category. The tournament is put on to support the Tilton Library expansion.

CCG results

Brandon Fullam, Matt Vayda, Shane Nortan and Ethan Lacaire shot the low gross of 56 to place first in an Amherst Police Department Outing at Country Club of Greenfield Friday. 

Brendan Mckinney, Mark Nailor, Luke Corbett and Ed Hagelstein placed second (57). 

In the Mixed Group, Scott Livingstone, Pat McGuire, Artie Ackerman and Kate O’Donnell shot the low gross (58) followed by Robert Haigh Jr., Tim Farrell, Jamie Crocker and Val Esquer (60). 

• Joe Ruggeri won closest to the pin on Hole No. 2 (10 feet, seven inches) while Mike Larabee won it on No. 5 (8-4) in the Greenfield Elks League at Country Club of Greenfield Wednesday.
