Bulletin board: Westy Open Weekend disc golf tournament on tap this weekend

Over 100 disc golfers will embark on Greenfield this weekend for Westy Open Weekend ’24, a two-day, two-round event which attracts professional and amateur players.
The event, to be held at Westy Acres Disc Golf Course on Raymond Road, begins Saturday morning with Round 1 tee times starting at 8 a.m. The second and final round is Sunday.
The Mixed Pro Open (MPO) Division will play from the blue tees, and that field features 20 disc golfers including area pros Gillis MacDougall (Greenfield, 2:30 p.m. tee time), Joseph Gray (Athol, 2:45), Kyle Bergmann (Erving, 1:45), Reuben Hagen (Leverett, 2:15) and Zach Longeill (Orange, 2:15).
Orange’s Michelle Longeill (1:15 p.m.) highlights the Women’s Pro Open (WPO) Division, and the tournament several amateur divisions in different age groups.
Greenfield Elks League
Keith Schempp and Chris Kalinowski were closest to the pin winners during Greenfield Elks League Week 15 action at the Country Club of Greenfield on Wednesday.
Schempp was closest at No. 5 (10 feet, 8 inches), and Kalinowski was closest at No. 2 (17-5).
Bill Erman and Paul Viens were first with 81 points, followed by Schempp and John Stacy (76.5) and the team of Joe LaChance and Bill Martin (76).
