MONTAGUE — The Energy Committee and Solar Planning Committee invite residents who want to be involved in planning for solar installations to a forum being held on Zoom on Wednesday, May 22, at 6:30 p.m.

The meeting will offer an opportunity for residents and business owners in all five of Montague’s villages to provide input on and explore ways that the town’s draft Community Solar Action Plan could be used as a starting point for solar planning. The draft plan includes suggested locations for solar arrays based on what residents prefer and potential sites for larger solar projects.

The draft plan was developed by two University of Massachusetts Amherst students in collaboration with UMass Clean Energy Extension faculty experts, and it presents a range of ideas and opportunities for the planning of future solar installations in town. The UMass Clean Energy Extension faculty members leading Wednesday’s meeting will summarize the draft plan and leave time for questions and explorations of next steps.
