High schools: Frontier boys tennis falls to PVCICS in Class C semis (PHOTOS)

It was a tough trip to Hampshire College for the Frontier boys tennis team on Tuesday.
Taking on top-seeded PVCICS in the opening round of the Western Mass. Class C tournament, the No. 4 Redhawks suffered a 5-0 defeat.
Jacob Han fell in No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-1), Robert Fuqua fell in No. 2 singles (6-0, 6-0) while Brayden Reipold suffered a defeat in No. 3 singles (6-0, 6-2). Caiden Manning and Oliver Brown fell in No. 1 doubles (6-3, 6-1) while Donovan Vichi and Noah Nichols were unable to earn a win in No. 2 doubles (6-3, 6-0).
PVCICS will play No. 3 Lee in the Class C final.
Class C semis
No. 2 Ware 3, No. 3 Frontier 0 — There will be a new Class C champion, as the defending champion Redhawks suffered a 25-17, 25-22, 25-20 loss at Ware on Tuesday in the semifinals.
Aleks Carey put down 14 kills, Jack Carey smashed eight kills, Will Reading tallied two kills while Tavo Vincent-Warner put down three aces and dished 25 assists for Frontier.

Turners 3, Renaissance 2 — The Thunder swept all three singles matches to pull out a win in Springfield Tuesday.
Olivia Wolbach won in No. 1 singles (6-3, 6-2), Avery Heathwaite took No. 2 singles (6-0, 6-0) while Fiona Hutchison earned a win in No. 3 singles (6-2, 3-6, 6-3) for Turners.
Mohawk Trail 3, Frontier 2 — Palmer King won in No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-1) while Hazel Foucault picked up a win in No. 2 singles (6-1, 6-1) in the Warriors’ win over the Redhawks on Tuesday in Buckland.
Ivan Hillenbrand and Eliza Crowell earned a 6-2, 6-0 win in No. 1 doubles for Mohawk Trail. For Frontier, Aylen Shaw won in No. 3 singles (6-0, 6-3) while Esther Ehle and Kayla Fagan earned an abbreviated 6-1, 2-0 win in No. 2 doubles.
