The Pioneer boys soccer team’s unbeaten streak continued on Tuesday in Hadley.

Taking on Hopkins, it looked like the Panthers and the Golden Hawks were heading to a scoreless tie, with neither club able to light up the scoreboard with under 10 minutes to go.

That changed in the 74th minute. Kurt Redeker lofted a pass into the box where Alex McClelland skied up to head it into the net to give Pioneer the lead. Hopkins was unable to answer, as the Panthers walked away with a 1-0 Schmid League victory to improve to 5-0-2 on the season.

Next up for the Panthers is a showdown against Mount Everett on Thursday in Northfield.

Mount Everett 5, Greenfield 1 — Leading 1-0 at the half, the Eagles got their attack going in the final 40 minutes to the tune of four goals — two coming in the final five minutes — as the Wave fell in Sheffield Tuesday.

Jack Laurie scored off an assist from Nathan Gheorghita in the 67th minute for Greenfield. Liam Grahame-Lawson made six saves in the loss.

Monson 5, Mahar 1 — Tristan Gaj made five saves in goal in the first half before shifting to offense and scoring the Senators’ lone tally in the second half, as Mahar fell in Orange on Tuesday.

Clayde Thompson made seven saves in the second half for the Sens.
