Indoor track: Frontier’s Nicole Plasse (600m), Greenfield’s Jackson Caron (mile) capture victories at PVIAC Meet No. 6

The sixth PVIAC indoor track meet of the season took place on Sunday at Smith College in Northampton, with Frontier, Greenfield and Pioneer competing in the early session.
Here are the top performers from each team:
The Frontier girls knocked off Greenfield (81-13) while the Redhawk boys also beat the Green Wave (68-27).
In the girls’ race, Frontier’s Nicole Plasse won the 600 meters with a time of 1:51.40 to set the pace.
Josie Fosnot took 10th in the 300 (46.96), Phoebe Radner came in seventh in the 1,000 (3:45.69), Leah Gump took fourth in the mile (6:06.27) and second in the 2 mile (12:46.51), Hannah Davis came in second in the 55 hurdles (9.86) while Liv Christensen took fourth in the 2 mile (14:10.26).
In the boys’ race, Frontier’s Ben Cachiguango took third in the 55 hurdles (8.70), seventh in the 55 (6.97) and seventh in the 300 (39.96) in a strong all around performance.
Aidan Valderrama placed third in the 600 (1:31.73), Amory Maxey placed fourth in the 1,000 (2:54.29) and third in the 2 mile (11:43.25), Charles Dennis placed fourth in the mile (4:56.38) for the Hawks.
The Greenfield girls fell to Frontier (81-13) and Pope Francis (64-17) while the Green Wave boys beat Pope Francis (61-31) but fell to the Redhawks (68-27).

On the girls’ side, Julia Belville came in 14th in the 600 (2:12.35), Suhani Patel took 20th in the 55 hurdles (11.96) while Emilia Gray came in 26th in the 55 (8.66).
On the boys’ side, Jackson Caron won the mile to continue his stellar indoor season with a time of 4:46.30, and he also took second in the 1,000 (2:50.03).
Dylan Breiwick placed fourth in the 2 mile (12:16.39) while Alex Scotera placed sixth in the 2 mile (12:23.72).
Both the Pioneer boys and girls beat Commerce on Sunday, the Panther boys winning 49-13 and the Pioneer girls walking away with a 62-6 victory.
On the girls’ side, Louise Flagollet took third in the 300 (44.15), Sahana Heilman placed 10th in the mile (6:41.27) and seventh in the 55 hurdles (10.35) while Emmanuelle Flagollet took sixth in the 55 hurdles (10.33).
On the boys’ side, Ryan Spofford took 10th in the mile (5:36.40), Lex Singh came in ninth in the 2 mile (12:55.36) while Griffin de Ruiter finished in 14th in the 300 (40.96).
