ORANGE — LaunchSpace will hold its second annual ReMake Festival on Saturday to share ways to leverage makerspaces that provide space and equipment to repair, reuse and upcycle everyday items.
The free event, scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m., is packed with workshops, demonstrations and a silent auction that will support LaunchSpace’s Access to the Arts Scholarship Fund. Some of the activities happening throughout the day include interactive demonstrations in all studios, “Make-and-Take” projects for all ages, a film strip photo booth, a local art vendor gallery and more.
Meanwhile, the Every Last Scrap Challenge enables participants to show off their skills and ingenuity by using every scrap of materials provided in custom-made bags picked up at the makerspace during open hours. There will be a panel of judges that starts voting at 2 p.m. and a winner will be selected at 3 p.m.
LaunchSpace, a makerspace in the Orange Innovation Center at 131 West Main St., hopes the ReMake Festival will grow into an annual event hosted each Earth Day.
