Lemoine claims assessor seat in Hawley election

HAWLEY — Wayne Lemoine will take over the three-year assessor position, after receiving 24 write-in votes in Monday’s election.
The race, against write-in candidate Ashley Harrison, was the only contested one. Harrison received 15 votes.
According to Town Clerk Donna Lemoine, 53 residents cast their ballots, making for a 22% voter turnout.
The results of the remaining races, which were all uncontested, are as follows:
■Selectboard/Board of Health, three-year term — Will Cosby, 41 votes.
■Town clerk, three-year term — Donna Lemoine, 50 votes.
■Auditor, one-year term — Ashley Harrison, 27 votes.
■Hawlemont Regional School District School Committee, three-year term — Ken Bertsch, 33 votes.

■Mohawk Trail Regional School District School Committee, three-year term — Scott Purinton, 31 votes.
■Moderator, one-year term — Scott Purinton, 36 votes.
