Three cheers for the GCC president and provost [“Union votes ‘no confidence’ in president, provost,” June 19]. If there is anything we don’t need it’s more emphasis on division, enmity, and ignorance (DEI). Division because it separates humans based on the amount of melanin in their skin. Enmity because people don’t like being told what to do based on someone else’s ideas. Ignorance because the whole idea ignores the complex combination of human genetic and cultural evolution.

We are all the same and also individually unique.
