My July 11 letter, “The Bible matters,” went over like a lead balloon, as I knew it would. “Truly horrifying,” one letter writer called it (“Horrified by Bible letter,” July 17). My message in response is this: Since evolution is taught in America’s classrooms, the Bible should be taught as well. But that would be “truly horrifying” for the writer, who wrote, “We certainly do not need it in our schools. Our schools need to teach tolerance, respect, and compassion if we are ever to have a peaceful world.” I wonder if liberals ever ponder the increase in violence since God was kicked out of our schools long ago.

As I recall, no one was offended by prayer at a graduation when I was a teenager because most adults were tolerant back then. We even had Christmas parties (but liberal Grinches put an end to that!). Remember when kids used to be carefree? Those days are gone. Who thinks it’s wonderful to stress children out with climate change mumbo jumbo?

The left’s idea of a “peaceful world” is abortion on demand, forcing everyone to go green, and indoctrinating kids with woke garbage. The left wants to pollute children’s minds with books containing pornography, but they have banned Bibles from our schools because they hate God. Yet today’s liberals think they are the most tolerant people around. Needless to say, they are sadly mistaken.
