Gotta give credit to my local fuel dealer. They alerted me to the horrors of the Mass. clean heat standard. Something I hadn’t heard much about. An authoritarian dream. Apparently government wants to take control of where the people get their energy. Eliminate all fuel dealers and leave one regulated utility controlled by … wait for it … the government! What could possibly go wrong?
The reason to give up choices, allow government to pick and choose what businesses are allowed to exist and run a protection racket (cap & trade)? The weather. We’re being told the weather we currently enjoy is broken and government’s gonna fix it . For a price. The truth revealing question always is: Who benefits? Government. This is just another power grab ,another cash grab.
Apparently the fuel dealers are supposed to convince their customers to leave an independent retailer and do business with a government controlled utility. If the independent businesses aren’t good enough at putting themselves out of business they will be fined. And guess who’s gettin’ that money? Government.
We need a similar plan where government forces itself out of business. The plan we currently have, voting, doesn’t work very well in a one-party system. Quotable quotes, “If you give up freedoms for the promise of ‘improved’ weather you will get neither.” Somewhat made up. “If you can’t question it, it’s not science, it’s propaganda.” Don’t know who to credit.
“A government big enough to give you everything you want is strong enough to take everything you have.” (Thomas Jefferson)
