Recent letters to the editor from local climate fanatics show how irrational they have become. They continue to be addicted to virtue signaling. Keep “fossil fuels in the ground” they write. Their arguments against fossil fuels are all based on feelings and hypotheticals, as they ignore the relationship between climate science and climate policies. The utopian goals Massachusetts has envisioned, of massive solar farms, wind turbines in the ocean, net zero by 2030 are failing to materialize due to sky-high costs, environmentalist push back, from the same people who voted for it five years ago, and nimbyism.
Banning fossil fuels is a ridiculous argument. They refuse to utter the word nuclear, a real net zero alternative.
The real fraud are EVs. Forcing “green” energy on us doesn’t cause other forms of energy to remain unconsumed. Thus, it has little or no effect on emissions.
Electric vehicles have been around for more than 100 years. They never took hold for the average citizen, for obvious reasons. If it wasn’t for the large government subsidies the manufactures are lapping up, EV production would stop. Only the elites can afford them.
They buy them to impress their neighbors. Hybrid (gas/battery) vehicles are a more realistic alternative.
As with all fanatics, no matter what their fanaticism is based on, “it’s my way or the highway” as the saying goes. They want it all or nothing. Someday the local climate activists will have to come down from their lofty ideals and face reality. Compromise, is a word and concept they must embrace.
