Disgusted by activists, time to innovate

I find it disgusting and simple-minded when after a weather event, activists in the valley use it to promote their climate agenda. It’s too cold, too hot, there’s too much rain, not enough rain, the drone goes on and on.

Personally. I find it despicable when others take advantage of a natural disaster to shout at us, “It’s climate change” (oxymoron phrase).

All the while local farmers, families and farmworkers suffer from the event.

The activists believe all we need to do is to install a few gazillion solar panels, a few million wind turbines and we all start driving electric vehicles.

These actions will make the climate wonderful, natural disasters will never happen again. The weather will be beautiful forever.

Local activists ignore the fact the U.S. has lowered its C02 emissions by almost 25% in the last 20 years, mainly due to increased reliance on natural gas.

They all advocate to “plug everything into” the electrical grid. Well, 80% of electricity is generated by fossil fuels, bio and nuclear. Large solar and wind farms need massive battery banks for backup power to the grid on cloudy or windless days. The batteries are made using fossil fuels.

China and India are the world’s largest consumers of coal to keep up with electricity demands in their respective countries. China alone added two coal generating plants a week last year.

Nothing we do here in the Valley will offset this.

We need to adapt, innovate and mitigate. Live your life however you want and stop telling others how to live theirs.
