What about the Constitution?

Call me foolish but I just can’t let go of the following fact: If the constitution states clearly that election procedures — rules and regulations — are set by state legislatures, and a handful of attorneys general in a handful of states unilaterally made exceptions to these long established voting laws, then why wasn’t the 2020 election illegal? This blatant contradiction between fact and reality was not even discussed by the news media outlets or the various political talking heads. How can something so elemental be swept under the rug? And how can you call a large portion of the population rogue and unpatriotic for asking the question?
