Man in wheelchair struck in Greenfield crosswalk, sustains minor injuries

GREENFIELD — A 50-year-old Greenfield man in a wheelchair was taken to Baystate Franklin Medical Center with minor injuries after being struck in a crosswalk by a vehicle at the intersection of Main and Wells streets on Thursday morning.

A 54-year-old Greenfield woman driving a Honda Fit on Wells Street was turning left onto Main Street when she struck the man shortly before 11:40 a.m., according to Deputy Police Chief William Gordon. The woman was issued a citation for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
