HADLEY — A Millers Falls woman is facing two counts of armed assault to murder for allegedly slamming her vehicle into another car with a woman and child inside in the driveway of a Hadley residence on Feb. 2.
Christine DiPietro, 43, is also being charged with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, malicious damage to a vehicle and destruction of property, according to the report by Hadley Detective Janelle Seitz. She was released on conditions after pleading not guilty plea during her arraignment in Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown.
Witnesses who heard the crash and went to investigate told police DiPietro said she had gone to the 133 East St. home with the intention of running over her mother-in-law “because she stole my kid.” DiPietro allegedly drove her white Mercedes at a high rate of speed and crashed into the victim’s Honda CRV, pushing it into the home’s garage. Police said the incident drew the attention of passing traffic, creating a disturbance.
DiPietro is scheduled to return to court for a pretrial hearing on March 17.
