Montague Villages service starting

MONTAGUE — Montague Villages, an all-volunteer nonprofit serving Montague residents ages 60 and older, will begin providing services starting Friday, Nov. 1.

The nonprofit is dedicated to helping older adults remain independent in their homes through volunteer service. Specific services provided include transportation assistance, help with household chores, phone and in-person check-ins, and referrals to services outside of the volunteers’ scope.

Climate-inspired music performance set for Nov. 14

TURNERS FALLS — Musician and director of the Climate Stories Project Jason Davis will discuss his work and perform climate-inspired music at the Great Falls Discovery Center on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The Climate Stories Project is an educational and artistic forum that shares personal stories about climate change. Davis will discuss his work with climate narrative music, featuring recorded voices of people around the world talking about their personal responses to the climate crisis. Davis performs solo double bass musical pieces.

Refreshments will be included. This event is intended for teens and adults.

Zydeco Connection plays Louisiana blues, boogie-woogie, two step and waltzes.

There is a suggested sliding-scale donation of $6 to $15, though children will be admitted for free. Donations help the Friends of the Great Falls Discovery Center provide free nature programming.

Coffee, tea and baked goods will be available.

Nov. 2: Dove of Peace Bazaar

TURNERS FALLS — The Our Lady of Peace Church Women’s Group will hold its annual Dove of Peace Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh St.

The bazaar will have a raffle with more than 50 prizes, several vendor tables and a bake sale.

Cider and doughnuts with artist John Lake

ERVING — The Erving Public Library and the Erving Office of Community Planning will host cider and doughnuts with “Reading Circle” artist John Lake on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. at the library.

According to the Erving Public Library’s event page, “These grant-funded sculptures were created in the spring of 2024 as a temporary installation and have since been donated by the artist to the town of Erving.”

Erving Public Library holding puzzle swap

ERVING — The Friends of the Erving Public Library will host a puzzle swap from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10. The puzzle swap is offered on the second Sunday of each month.

People will be able to exchange a jigsaw puzzle for another. Those without a puzzle to swap are still welcome as extras will be available. The event is for all ages. More information can be found at erving-ma.gov/erving-public-library/events/38566.
