MONTAGUE — The article submission deadline for the March 14 Special Town Meeting is 4 p.m. on Feb. 7.
The article submission deadline for the May 4 Annual Town Meeting has been set for 4 p.m. on March 13.
The meetings will be held in the Turners Falls High School auditorium.
GILL — From August through September, the new Leaf Joy cannabis dispensary at 1 Main Road contributed $5,340 in revenue to the town, according to Town Administrator Ray Purington.
The figure was announced during Monday’s Selectboard meeting. Purington said the town has yet to receive a payment for the October, November and December quarter.
Attorney James McMahon, representing PGM Property Management that bought the building where the dispensary is now housed, informed the Selectboard in 2021 that Leaf Joy would benefit Gill financially through “increased property tax after the site is fully renovated, the 3% cannabis local sales tax and the 3% gross revenue share of the community impact fee, a fee assessed to directly offset any town expenses related to the project.” When the store opened in late July 2023, it became Gill’s first dispensary.
“We will be revamping our host community agreement in the next few months,” Purington mentioned.
GILL — According to Town Administrator Ray Purington, the tax rate for fiscal year 2024 is anticipated to be $15.48 per $1,000 valuation, a decrease compared to fiscal year 2023’s $16.91 per $1,000 valuation.
