Montague man killed in single-vehicle crash

MONTAGUE — A Montague man died early Monday morning after his car struck a tree along Turners Falls Road, according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.
Garrett Giustina, 22, of Laurel Lane, was pronounced dead at the scene after crashing his red Kia Optima in the area of 418 Turners Falls Road at around 2:25 a.m., according to a State Police report cited by DA’s office spokesperson Laurie Loisel. He was the vehicle’s sole occupant.
While his death was deemed unattended and accidental, the crash remains under investigation.
According to Loisel, Massachusetts State Police’s Crime Scene Services Section, Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section (CARS) and detective unit responded, as well as Montague Police and Montague Center Fire departments.
