DEERFIELD — South County EMS transported a young man to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield after his motorcycle crashed into a silver Toyota RAV4 on Sugarloaf Street on Friday.

Deerfield and Sunderland Police blocked off a portion of Sugarloaf Street at approximately 5:15 p.m. on Friday. According to Deerfield Police Sgt. Jennifer Bartak, the motorcyclist, riding a silver Yamaha sports bike, rear-ended the RAV4, operated by an adult woman, while attempting to turn right onto Snowberry Circle.

The man suffered, “serious, but not life-threatening” injuries after the collision, according to Bartak. She added that he complained of stomach pain upon EMS arrival.

The driver of the Toyota RAV4 declined to comment.
