Due to the heat and humidity, I’ve been a bit cranky. Reading this newspaper makes me even crankier.

It’s absurd that Democrats are still marching for George Floyd in Sunderland, but they will continue to do this until the Recorder no longer covers their arduous journey around town.

So Donald Trump was found guilty by a jury. Big deal! He did nothing wrong and the trial was obviously a sham. Dr. Anthony Fauci is the one who should stand trial for all the lives he ruined.

Local columnist Carrie Baker says, “President Biden has been a longstanding advocate for women’s right to be free from violence” [“Presidents matter on enforcing our rights,” May 28]. Of course women should be free from violence, but why do liberals think it’s perfectly fine for women to commit violence against their unborn children?

In May, some Democrats burned an American flag in Northampton in front of U.S. Rep. Jim McGovern’s office. That’s liberals for ya. Promote abortion, then set fire to the flag (just not a Pride flag).

Speaking of Pride, since every June is now Pride Month, I think Memorial Day should be changed to Memorial Month. And I’d like to thank my neighbors for not stuffing a Pride flag in my mailbox. Again, thanks.

In a June 4 letter, Ernie Brill called Recorder columnist John Huer a “pompous pontificator.” Mr. Brill, thank you for making my day.

Apparently many Democrats are uncomfortable with plaster busts of famous men at the Griswold Memorial Library in Colrain (“Voters nix CPA, preservation of library busts,” June 6). So looking at Christopher Columbus and George Washington offends the liberals, therefore the busts must go? Unreal.

According to Maribeth Oakes, “I don’t think our country or this world could survive another Hitler [“What lies ahead,” June 8.] Of course she’s referring to Trump because he’s a Nazi, I’m a Nazi, and everyone who doesn’t vote Democrat is a Nazi. I’m so very sick of this Nazi crap. The writer and her ilk are just terrified that Biden will lose this November, so they resort to name-calling. Sticks and stones.

When I saw the June 14 headline on the Recorder’s front page, “GCC union taking no-confidence vote,” that got me to thinking. I really do have no confidence in most people.

Wendy Robinson says Biden “continues to calmly and steadily” govern [“Trump is the danger,” June 19]. Apparently she’s serious, which is a little alarming. Perhaps she witnessed his weirdness at the recent presidential debate. Yikes!

I like it when it’s warm, not humid, and I sure do look forward to cooler temperatures this fall. But right now we’re not experiencing a climate emergency. What we’re experiencing is summer weather.
