LEYDEN — The Selectboard is considering a Special Town Meeting warrant article that, if passed by voters, would discontinue East Hill Road from where it intersects with Hunt Road until the end.
During a recent meeting, the Selectboard was given a letter from East Hill Road homeowners Ellen S. Breiling and Reginald Amidon, who requested the discontinuance of the road be reconsidered. The homeowners said they’re building a new home on East Hill Road and their driveway would be about 350 feet past the point of discontinuance.
“Should the town discontinue the road from the turnaround, access to our parcel in order to build would no longer be possible,” Breiling and Amidon’s letter reads.
The Selectboard planned to confirm the homeowners’ measurements from where East Hill Road would potentially end, and expected to discuss the road discontinuance further later in February.
“There’s still a lot of steps … before anything happens,” said Selectboard member Katherine DiMatteo.
