NORTHFIELD — Dickinson Memorial Library will host “Birds of Our Meadows,” a presentation with pictures, information and suggestions for conservation, by ornithologist Mara Silver on Thursday, May 16, from 6 to 7 p.m.
The talk is presented by the Northfield Bird Club and the library, and funded in part by a Northfield Cultural Council grant.
NORTHFIELD — The Friends of the Greenfield Public Library will host a “Pints for Programs” fundraising event at The Brewery at Four Star Farms, 508 Pine Meadow Road, on Thursday, May 16.
The brewery is donating a portion from all full-size pours of beer, wine and cider for the entire day it is open, from noon to 9 p.m. That donation will go directly to the Friends to fund the diverse programs the library offers.
There will be outdoor games and a food truck from 3 to 8 p.m. Friends members will be present from 4 to 9 p.m.

BERNARDSTON — Author Sara Campbell will speak at the Bernardston Senior Center on Monday, May 20, at 3 p.m.
Campbell and Shari Strahan recently published “Did Grandma Have a Filling Station? Greenfield Women and Their Historic Businesses.” Women in Greenfield have contributed to commerce, agriculture, social and religious life, education, and on the most basic level, raising each generation of citizens. This book reveals details of the lives of a dozen largely invisible women who filed Married Woman’s Business Certificates around the turn of the 20th century.

LEYDEN — The town’s “Coffee and History” programs are back, with the next event planned for Sunday, May 26, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the historical display, located in the Town Office at 7 Brattleboro Road.
Residents can expect these programs on the second and fourth Sundays of each month.
BERNARDSTON — My Art Company presents a pair of art classes at the Bernardston Senior Center on Tuesdays, May 21 and 28, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Participants will learn and practice basic watercolor techniques like wet on wet, half wet, damp and dry brush, mixing colors, creating values, composition, and using brushes and other tools.
Attendees can sign up for one class, limited to 10 participants each. Artists can bring their own paints and brushes, though most supplies will be available. The cost is $5 per class.
BERNARDSTON — Roast turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy and carrots will be served at the Bernardston Senior Center on Wednesday, May 22, at 11:45 a.m.
