Northfield 350th events continue in September

NORTHFIELD — As part of continued celebrations of Northfield’s 350th anniversary, the following programs are planned in the coming weeks:

■Sunday, Sept. 10, 1 to 4 p.m. — The Northfield Historical Society Museum will be open at 13 Pine St. Joel Fowler will also answer Northfield genealogy questions.

■Saturday, Sept. 16, 10 a.m. — “Coffee Hour on West Northfield,” to be presented at Dickinson Memorial Library.

■Saturday, Sept. 16, 11:15 a.m. and 1 p.m. — Architectural historian Eric Gradoia will lead architectural tours of Main Street. Register in advance by contacting Dickinson Memorial Library at dmemlib@gmail.com.

Sept. 13: Leyden community lunch

LEYDEN — A community lunch provided by the Council on Aging will be held at Town Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 13.

Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. and will be preceded at 11 by a talk with Chris Maguire regarding Medicare benefits. Attendees are welcome to bring questions.

The menu includes scalloped potatoes with kielbasa, salad, dinner rolls and cookies. Reservations are strongly encouraged by calling Linda Allis at 413-834-4417.

The monthly walk-in wellness clinic with Public Health Nurse Lisa White will be offered the same day, also at Town Hall, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. To reserve vaccine doses or to discuss health concerns, call the Franklin Regional Council of Governments nurses at 413-774-3167, ext. 156.

‘Coffee and History’ programs offered at Town Offices

LEYDEN — “Coffee and History” programs will be held on Sundays, Sept. 10 and Sept. 24, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Town Offices.

Bernardston student included on Simmons dean’s list

BOSTON — Bernardston resident Skyler Cohen was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Simmons University in Boston.

To qualify for dean’s list status, undergraduate students must obtain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, based on 12 or more credit hours of work in classes using the letter grade system.
