NEW SALEM — According to the Friends of the New Salem Public Library, the 2024 season of Reading Aloud for Grownups will have three events on Tuesday evenings.
Betsy Pelz and Marcia Gagliardi will be readers on Jan. 9. Then, Bo and Jan Henderson will be featured on Feb. 20, and Dee Waterman and Frederick Edwards will be readers on March 12.
Readings will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the library as well as on Zoom. There will be refreshments. Attendees can just show up or register for the Zoom link at tinyurl.com/RAGU2024. In the event of bad weather, the readings will be held via Zoom only.

NEW SALEM — Tillie Nutter and Ella Mackenzie, from The Florist at Gelinas in Orange, are scheduled to demonstrate floral arrangements at the New Salem Public Library on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
The program is slated for 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the library’s Community Room.
WENDELL — The next Dementia Friends Info Session is scheduled for 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Wendell Senior Center or via Zoom on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
The session will be hosted by Village Neighbors, a nonprofit that provides services to people ages 60 and up in Leverett, Shutesbury, Wendell and New Salem. Attendees will be educated on what dementia is and isn’t, how to more skillfully interact with someone who has memory or language loss, and how to offer support to a caregiver.

WENDELL — The Wendell Free Library plans to host matinee movies every Wednesday at 4 p.m.
The library will show a variety of award-winning feature films for adults, ranging from light comedy to intense drama, including both classic and recent films. Informal discussions after the movie are encouraged.
The schedule is as follows: “A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood” on Jan. 3; “Moonrise Kingdom” on Jan. 10; “The Heiress” on Jan. 17; “Mr. Holmes” on Jan. 24; and “Waking Ned Devine” on Jan. 31; “Belle” on Feb. 7; “Laura” on Feb. 14; “Chocolat” on Feb. 21; and “Father Goose” on Feb. 28. ORANGE — LaunchSpace, a 12,000-square-foot nonprofit, member-based community workshop that operates out of the Orange Innovation Center, has scheduled an open house for Thursday, Jan. 18.
The third floor of the Orange Innovation Center at 131 West Main St. will be open to the public from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
There will be a guided tour with plenty of time to ask questions, as well as a demonstration using a laser cutter. There will also be opportunities to sign up to receive LaunchSpace’s monthly newsletter, with a variety of classes and events offered each month.
