NEW SALEM — Demolition and metal containers are back at the Transfer Station.
People are asked to check in with the Transfer Station attendant regarding what they are disposing of and to understand there are fees involved. With questions, email nsboardofhealth@gmail.com.
People are also asked to secure their loads of trash and recycling before leaving home because roadside litter has been increasing in the town due to “blow-off” from unsecured loads.
NEW SALEM — A representative of the state Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will be at the New Salem Public Library on Tuesday, April 23, at 6:30 p.m. for a presentation on the Quabbin Reservoir and watershed protection.
Maria Beiter-Tucker, of DCR’s Division of Water Supply Protection, will explain how engineering, forestry, wildlife, aquatic biology, carpentry, mowing and snowplowing combine to protect the water supply for more than 3 million people in Massachusetts.
