NEW SALEM — The 1794 Meetinghouse is scheduled to host back-to-back performances this weekend.
Samirah Evans and Anand Nayak will perform an eclectic mix of pop, jazz standards and originals starting at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 7. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for anyone 13 to 17 years of age. Anyone 12 or younger gets in for free. Pianist Steven Schoenberg is set for 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for anyone 13 to 17. Again, anyone 12 or younger gets in for free.
NEW SALEM — The New Salem Cultural Council grant applications for the fiscal year 2025 funding cycle opened on Sept. 1. Look out for the release of application information from the Massachusetts Cultural Council at massculturalcouncil.org.
An online survey is available to gather residents’ input to help the Cultural Council create a framework for arts, culture and community development that will be relevant to and inclusive of the community’s needs. The survey can be accessed at tinyurl.com/yzhze3sy.
NEW SALEM — Singers of all levels of experience are welcome to join Quabbin Valley Pro Musica, no auditions required.
Quabbin Valley Pro Musica rehearses from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday evenings between September and June. Rehearsals are held in the Central Congregational Church at 24 South Main St. and in the 1794 Meetinghouse. It performs two concerts each year — winter and summer.
