HAWLEY — An area of Route 8A just south of the intersection with Pudding Hollow Road will be closed through Friday, April 19 next week, as the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) conducts slope repairs along the roadway.
MassDOT will close the strip of road beginning on Monday, April 15, at 7 a.m. and no traffic will be able to pass through during the repair work. The road is expected to reopen at 5 p.m. on April 19.
Drivers should expect delays, reduce their speed and use caution if they are driving in the area. Hawley Administrative Assistant Tinky Weisblat said residents and drivers should plan ahead for their commutes during the repairs. All work is weather dependent.
