SOUTH DEERFIELD — The Friends of Deerfield and the town’s 350th Committee are burying a 350th anniversary time capsule on Saturday, June 8, at 11:30 a.m. at the South Deerfield Congregational Church on North Main Street.
A follow-up luncheon will be held at Town Hall. Folks can RSVP by emailing info@friendsofdeerfield.org or calling 413-665-4858.
WHATELY — The EarRegulars jazz band will be performing at next week’s Watermelon Wednesdays concert on June 12 at 7:30 p.m.
The event will be held at the West Whately Chapel, as Watermelon Wednesdays welcomes the four-piece jazz combo led by trumpeter Jon-Erik Kellso and guitarist Matt Ministeri, who both founded the band in 2007. Tickets can be purchased at watermelonwednesdays.com.
SOUTH DEERFIELD — Schoen Books’ third annual charity book sale on May 26 brought in $800 for numerous local programs.
Ken Schoen, the store’s owner, is donating the money to local survival centers, Cancer Connection, Manna Kitchen and projects working with refugees.
SOUTH DEERFIELD — The Deerfield Inclusion Group is hosting its third annual LGBTQIA+ Pride Party on Saturday, June 8, at Deerfield Elementary School from 1 to 4 p.m.
The free event is open to all ages and will feature story time, a bounce house, face painting, temporary tattoos, arts and crafts, games and raffle prizes. The event is co-sponsored by Tilton Library, the Frontier Regional School Gender/Sexuality Alliance, Deerfield Elementary School Leadership Team, Massachusetts Commission of LGBTQ Youth, Translate Gender and Transhealth.

LEVERETT — The Leverett Education Foundation has awarded 10 grants totaling more than $13,000 to nine different teachers and staff at the school covering projects from pre-K to sixth grade, as well as the after-school program.
The grants, made possible through donations from residents, businesses and community organizations, provide funding beyond the school’s operating budget.
Projects funded include: cooking supplies for the early childhood and kindergarten classrooms, alternative seating options, flexible seating equipment for the first grade, a Teachers Pay Teachers curriculum subscription, a third and fourth grade field trip to the Boston Museum of Science, social-emotional learning picture books, mental health iPads, greenhouse and garden supplies, and walkie-talkies for the after-school program.
