Two taken to hospital after crash near Sunderland Bridge

DEERFIELD — Two individuals were transported for medical treatment Thursday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision near the Sunderland Bridge.
Deerfield and Sunderland Police responded at around 4 p.m. Two black sedans had crashed into one another on Route 116, causing airbag deployment. Both cars exhibited heavy front-end damage.
Sunderland and Deerfield Police closed a portion of Route 116 while firefighters cleaned debris off the road.
Officials with Deerfield Police and the South Deerfield Fire District declined to comment on the collision.
