Bridge of Flowers Committee preps for second annual Art Show & Sale

SHELBURNE FALLS — The Bridge of Flowers Committee will host the second annual Bridge of Flowers Art Show & Sale on Saturday, Aug. 17 and Sunday, Aug. 18, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m at the Shelburne-Buckland Community Center at 53 Main St.

An artists’ reception will take place Friday, Aug. 16, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Following its inaugural show in 2023, this year’s event will feature more than 100 work — including painting, drawing, photography and fiber art — by hilltown artists from around the region.

Admission to the show and reception is free. Fifty to 100% of art sales proceeds go directly to benefit the bridge, which is undergoing a $3 million repair project before its gardens are replanted for the 2025 spring/summer season.

The art show will also feature an opportunity to buy pieces of the beloved wisteria from the bridge. To accomplish the repair work, the wisteria (circa 1984) had to be removed. It was carefully cut into sections that will be available for purchase at the show.

The show is still accepting art. To submit artwork, visit bridgeofflowersmass.org.
