SHELBURNE — The First Congregational Church of Shelburne will host the fourth session of the Lenten Discussion Series on Wednesday, March 22, at 7 p.m.

BUCKLAND — The Franklin Land Trust will present a screening of the film “Root Hog or Die” at Mohawk Trail Regional School on Saturday, March 25, at 7 p.m.
Directed by Rawn Fulton in 1978, “Root Hog or Die” is a documentary that captures the relationship between farmers and the land they work on. The film follows farmers through a year’s cycle of logging, haying, dairying and sugaring, providing an authentic look at the daily challenges and triumphs of farming in New England.
“We are thrilled to bring this gem of documentary filmmaking to our community,” Mary Lynn Sabourin, executive director of the Franklin Land Trust, said in a statement. “The film is an excellent reminder of the resilience and dedication it takes to be a subsistence farmer. We hope it inspires a greater appreciation for the hard work that goes into producing the food that nourishes us.”
Fulton will be in attendance to provide an introduction to the film, and he will participate in a question-and-answer session with the audience after the screening.
Admission to the event is free, but donations are welcome. All proceeds will benefit the Franklin Land Trust.
