CHARLEMONT — Shelburne Falls author Joan Livingston will talk about her writing experience including her latest novel, “Northern Comfort,” on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m. at Tyler Memorial Library. Like most of Livingston’s novels, this dark drama is set in the fictional hilltowns of western Massachusetts.
Livingston will also give a sneak peek at “Missing the Deadline,” book No. 7 in her Isabel Long mystery series, which will be released later this year by darkstroke books.
Books will be available to purchase at a discount.
CHARLEMONT — The 45th annual Hobby Horse Bazaar will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hawlemont Regional School.
The market will have more than 20 vendors selling a variety of handcrafted items. There will be raffles, a bake sale, lunch items and children’s activities.
All proceeds support the Hawlemont Parent-Teacher Organization and the 2024 Nature’s Classroom trip.
HAWLEY — Town Clerk Donna Lemoine is hoping to recruit more election workers for the next election in March 2024.
“We do need people to greet voters, record who has come and count the votes at the end of the day,” Administrative Assistant Tinky Weisblat wrote in a statement. “It’s not hard work to learn, and election workers get a small stipend.”

Holiday Bazaar
HEATH — The Heath Holiday Bazaar will take place on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 18 Jacobs Road.
The market will include fine art, art prints, blown glass, wood products, greeting cards, balsam wreaths, knitted items, pottery and maple products.
