Woman killed by train in Shelburne ID’d

SHELBURNE — The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office has identified the woman who was killed by a freight train on Monday as Jennifer Jarvis of Greenfield.
Jarvis, 45, was struck and killed by a Berkshire & Eastern Railroad freight train about half a mile from the Bardwell’s Ferry Bridge at approximately 5 a.m. She was pronounced dead around 5:30 a.m., according to DA’s office spokesperson Laurie Loisel.
The Conway and Shelburne Police departments, State Police detectives with the DA’s office, and troopers with the Crime Scene Services Section responded to the scene Monday morning.
The incident remains under investigation. Loisel said Monday that no foul play or criminal conduct is suspected.
