A collective noun is that fun aspect of grammar which denotes groups of animals, people and things. Perhaps you’ve heard of a gaggle of geese, a parliament of owls or a convocation of eagles.
I have created collective nouns for people in professions who I believe deserve recognition, respect, praise and more than one standing ovation in their lives.
A cornucopia of farmers. Think of the abundance of fruits, vegetables and herbs in our beautiful western Mass.
An enrichment of teachers. Think of the dedication, kindness, love and care they provide.
An encyclopedia of librarians. Think of the knowledge and brilliance contained in library workers planet wide.
A treasure of veterinarians. This includes reception, administration and vet techs.
I’m thinking of Dr. Brown and her team. Dispensing hugs, sharing tears, cheering on new arrivals, acknowledging the ones who have left. Golden hearts all.
