NORTHFIELD — Piper the Pied Harpist will provide musical entertainment during the Northfield Senior Center’s monthly Memory Cafe on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
This program provides support and socialization for adults dealing with memory-related issues and their caregivers. A light lunch will be provided.
RSVP by Oct. 16 by calling 413-498-2901, ext. 114. The program is open to residents of all towns but is limited to 20 participants each month.
NORTHFIELD — The Friends of the Northfield Senior Center, the fundraising arm of the Council on Aging, is holding a “Pints for Programs” benefit and raffle at The Brewery at Four Star Farms on Friday, Oct. 18, from 6 to 9 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from each pint sold will be donated to the Friends of the Northfield Senior Center.
Various raffle items will be up for grabs, at a price of $1 per ticket or $5 for six tickets. Available raffle items include a tailgate basket (with a soft-sided cooler and Patriots items), a picnic/recreation basket, a breakfast basket (coffee, tea, jam, honey, cocoa and more on a charcuterie board), a selection of items from Northfield businesses, a wine basket with a Peterman’s handcrafted baguette board, and event wreaths. Or, by entering the grand prize drawing at a cost of $10 for six tickets, attendees have a chance to win an eight-person Coleman tent or a selection of handcrafted bowls from Peterman’s Bowls.
Music will be provided by locals Terry McKeon, Stephanie Ciccarello and Shawn Foster of the Crowd the Plough Band.
BERNARDSTON — Joe Sabella, a mental health counselor with more than 20 years of experience, will present “Telecounseling Options For Medicare” at the Bernardston Senior Center on Monday, Oct. 21, at 3 p.m.
Sabella specializes in telecounseling Medicare recipients who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, aging, pain management, low self-esteem, stress, relationship problems or end-of-life concerns. For more information, visit his website at sabellatele-counseling.com.

BERNARDSTON — Touch of Sakura Reiki, led by Sheryl Sadler-Twyon, is offering an hour of tranquility with a crystal singing bowl sound bath experience at the Bernardston Senior Center on Friday, Oct. 25, at 11:30 a.m.
Participants immerse themselves in soothing tones that wash away stress and tension, allowing for deep relaxation and inner harmony. There is a $10 suggested donation per person.
Additionally, Sadler-Twyon will offer a reiki session the day before, Thursday, Oct. 24, from noon to 3 p.m. Reiki, used in conjunction with other therapies, helps activate each client’s natural healing processes and restores their physical and emotional well-being. The Travel Club offered by the Bernardston and Northfield senior centers will head to Athol’s Market Basket and Hobby Lobby, as well as enjoy lunch at the 110 Grill, on Friday, Oct. 25, at 9 a.m.
Sign-ups are limited to six people from each town. There will be a waitlist in case one town has spaces open up. The cost for the van is $6 roundtrip. Participants will meet at the Bernardston Senior Center. Alternatively, pickup at home is available.

NORTHFIELD — The Happy Feet walking group will meet on Monday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m. at the Northfield Mountain parking lot off Route 63, next to the pavilion and Riverview Picnic Area, at 144 Pine Meadow Road.
Participants will walk along Pine Meadow Road to Cabot Station on a scenic route abutting the Connecticut River. The walk will be 3 miles roundtrip. It is mainly a dirt road.
Dogs on leashes are welcome.
BERNARDSTON — The Bernardston Senior Center will host a Spooky Lunch & Bingo Halloween Party on Thursday, Oct. 31, at 11:45 a.m.
Attendees are encouraged to come in costume to enjoy a lunch of beef burgundy, mashed potatoes and spinach. A $3.50 donation is suggested.

LEYDEN — The 2024 Leyden Directory is now available from the Historical Commission, the Council on Aging (which provided funding) and Robertson Memorial Library. A $3 donation is suggested.
My Art Company
presents pair of
watercolor classes
BERNARDSTON — My Art Company will lead a pair of classes at the Bernardston Senior Center on painting country buildings with watercolors on Tuesdays, Oct. 15 and Oct. 29, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Participants may bring a photo of a farm they wish to paint or choose from a few selections painted by Ranulph Bye. Participants will learn how to transfer from photos to their painting paper while keeping the perspective and scale of the originals.
Each class is limited to 10 participants. Artists can bring their own paints and brushes. Most supplies will be available. A $5 fee per class offsets the cost of the program.
BERNARDSTON — The Thursday, Oct. 24 lunch at the Bernardston Senior Center with Chef Clare Maguire will feature chicken cordon bleu, sour cream and chive potatoes, Scandinavian blend vegetables, dinner rolls and pumpkin pudding.
The meal will be served at 11:45 a.m.
