WARWICK — According to the Friends of the Warwick Police Department, Route 78 paving is underway, with the following detours in place:
■Northbound traffic will be directed left onto Northfield Road and then right on Route 63 in the center of Northfield. Flower Hill Road is closed to this traffic.
■Southbound traffic will be directed to turn right on Flower Hill Road to Leland Hill Road and then left on Northfield Road back to the center of town.
No trucks will be allowed into Warwick from Winchester, New Hampshire, as the detour cannot accommodate heavy or lengthy vehicles. Access to Warwick Community School and local residences will be ensured, though there may be delays.
Work is expected to continue through next week with no weekend closures.
LEYDEN — A series of beginner quilling and card-making workshops will be held at the Leyden United Methodist Church, 15 West Leyden Road, on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning Sept. 21.
Quilling involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped and glued together to create decorative designs.
